This photo depicts the fall of Saigon after the departure of U.S. troops from Vietnam. This evacuation took place in 1975 as the communist North invaded the South.
05/29/2009 Agenda:
Your final task with the Wiki is to make a 7 slide PowerPoint for review. You will be given 7 terms from the review sheet that you will be responsible for. Each slide should contain a picture and brief description(like my picture and description above). All presentations will be printed and distributed to the class for review assistance. If you don't do one, you won't get anyone elses. Save this PowerPoint to a folder titled "Final Review."
05/20/2009 Agenda:
First, you are to clean up your Frontpage. I would like for you to insert a picture in the middle of the page(like mine). This picture should be of your favorite topic/person we covered this year. Under the picture, tell what it is of and why this was your favorite topic.
Next, you are to create a SmartArt of the Korean War. Use chapter 25, section 2 for assistance. This should be of three concepts/people and descriptions of their significance to the war. Save this in a folder titled Chapter 25.
04/29/2009 Agenda:
You are to create a PowerPoint on one of the following topics: Pearl Harbor, D-Day, Iwo Jima, Stalingrad or Dunkirk. Presentations should include at least three pictures and 4 informational slides(where, facts of the event, significance, results, etc.). Save your work in a page under a folder titles WWII.
04/01/2009 Agenda:
You are to type a 12 page paper, single spaced, on the socialist aspects of the New Deal...april fools!!
Seriously, create a page titled "New Deal." Similar to what you did for the 20's, you will write a brief description of the following programs: TVA, AAA, WPA, PWA and Eleanor Roosevelt. Be sure to explain why these things are significant and include a picture of each. Link this page in your chapter 21 folder.
03/25/2009 Agenda:
You are to make a PowerPoint depicting the Dust Bowl of the 1930s. Your presentation should include the following information: Location, cause and results of the storms. In addition, you should include multiple pictures illustrating the event.
Since we were unable to do last week's assignment, I am offering it as extra credit. See the Langston Hughes assignment below!
EXTRA CREDIT OPPORTUNITY!!:
03/04/2009 Agenda:
Create a folder titled Chapter 20. Within this folder, create a page titled The Roaring 20's. On this page, describe the significance of the following: Model T, Teapot Dome, the Scopes Trial, 18th Amendment, Babe Ruth and Flappers. Describe the significance of each individually. In addition, after each description, include a picture of the person/item.
02/25/2009 Agenda:
You are to create a 7 slide PowerPoint(includes intro.) of the new technologies of WWI. Eache slide should contain one development(weapon, organizations, etc), a description of what it was/did, and its significance on the War. Create a chapter 19 folder to link it to.
02/11/2009 Agenda:
The focus of today is Guantanamo Bay. I would like for you to create some kind of organizer of its history. This can be done using PowerPoint, a Publisher application(newsletter/brochure), or a Smart Art feature. Be creative and be sure to include pictures. Link your organizer within your chapter 18 folder.
02/04/2009 Agenda:
Using a vertical picture list from Smart Art, create an organizer that includes the following events/topics: USS Maine, Rough Riders and Emilio Aguinaldo. Make sure pictures and descriptors are included.
Once this is done, print a copy of the "Concept of Definition Map" from the resources link in your sidebar. Complete this for tomorrow using "Imperialism" as your topic.
1/21/2009 Agenda:
Using chapter 17 of your book, choose three accomplishments of the Progressive Era to represent in the Smart Art organizer of your choice. Your organizer must contain pictures and contain mulitple points(in text) of each accomplishment. Link your Smart Art organizer in a folder named "chapter 17."
**Your first wiki grade of the second semester will be taken at the end of this assignment. Make sure all second semester agendas are complete. I will not grade previous agendas like last semester. Keep up with the work!!
1/14/2009 Agenda:
Today's task is designed to assist you in reviewing for tomorrow's test over Reconstruction. You will need to copy the following document into a new Word file. 12/10/2008 Agenda
Today is the final day of Wiki work for the first semester. Before you begin today's task, I would like for you to take some time and comment/evaluate the first semester of work. Part of your grade for today's work will be your completed comments at the following links:
Activities
Technological Progress
Value
For todays work, I want you to print and complete a "History Frame." The
templates may be accessed from the "Reading Quest" link in your sidebar. Once you have the frame, use "Lincoln's Assassination" as your topic. This will be due in class on Thursday.
12/02/2008 Agenda
On each one of your Wiki Frontpages you will find a link titled "Civil War PowerPoint." This is a template I made in my tech workshop yesterday. As I promised you, whatever I do...you will do. All you need to do is complete the information on the slides following the first one. Once you have done this, save your PowerPoint and link it in a page inside your Civil War folder.
